Up for sale, a 2000 Fender Precision Bass ‘70 vintage reissue model PB70-70US in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A "Crafted in Japan" model, this bass features a factory-installed Fender American Standard split coil P Bass pickup, along with a few select vintage-spec touches including a block logo on the headstock, proper thumb rest placement, and black pickguard.
One welcome deviation from vintage spec is a thick slab rosewood fretboard (as opposed to a thinner veneer board seen on actual vintage examples). With an alder body as its sonic foundation, this bass delivers the goods with warm thump, excellent articulation, and sweet treble growl. Weighing 9lbs 1oz, this Precision Bass PB70-70US has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .955” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4" vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 5/8”, bone
-Tuners: Clover button
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” P-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: P-Bass Vintage split-coil x1 (USA-made)
-Controls: Volume, Tone
-Hardware: Bridge with steel saddles, dome-top knurled knobs (replacement)
-Plastics: Three-ply black pickguard, thumb rest
The gloss Olympic White finish exhibits subtle yellowing of the clear coat, with just a couple tiny marks on the top and back. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
A rare Fender Japan exclusive black tolex hardshell case with pink plush interior is included.
