2000 Fender Jazz Bass '75 Vintage Reissue JB75-90US Black w/ USA Pickups, Japan CIJ

Up for sale a 2000 Fender Jazz Bass ‘75 vintage reissue model JB75-90US in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An upscale Jazz Bass model produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (and now discontinued), this "Crafted in Japan" Jazz Bass features a bound maple fretboard with pearloid block inlay and, most importantly, factory-installed USA Fender pickups.

Weighing 9lbs 14oz with an ash body, there's a strong fundamental punch and sustain to the tone, and the low end is thick and focused, balanced by the inherent articulation and note attack of the maple fretboard. There's a growl and clarity to the bridge pickup, balanced by the fuller thump of the neck position single coil, yet naturally many of the instrument's best tones come from finding the perfect blend between the two. This Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .960” at the 12th. The bound maple fretboard has a 7 1/4” radius and flawless medium jumbo fretwire. This bass plays cleanly in every register up the 34” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1 1/2” in width. The headstock features clover-button tuners with full-size baseplates, tuning smoothly and holding accurate pitch. The P-prefix serial number sits just below the Jazz Bass logo on the headstock face, and the “Crafted in Japan” text is present above the three-bolt F neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, with a pair of the same pickups used on Fender's American Standard Jazz Bass line. Hardware includes the bridge base and control plate, both with bright chrome plating. Plastics comprise the original trio of knobs and three-ply pickguard, which displays some pick path scuffing on the treble side. The gloss Black finish is well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to a scant few light finish scratches and a couple microscopic dings on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

A padded gigbag is included.
