Up for sale, a 2000 Fender Jazz Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model JB62-75US in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a custom color Ocean Turquoise Metallic finish. A rare upper-tiered “Crafted in Japan” Jazz Bass produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this bass features USA-made pickups and vintage-spec touches including full-size tuner baseplates and spiral bridge saddles.

Tonewoods include an alder body and maple neck capped by a thick slab rosewood fretboard, and at 9lbs 14oz, the bass delivers plenty of natural sustain and sonic authority. The pickups deliver sweet midrange and articulate growl, with a clear treble register and plenty of broad thump when the Tone knob is rolled back to taste. We've had this Jazz Bass professionally setup here at Mike & MIke’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender, fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and .940” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a 7 1/4” radius and retains the stock slender frets which have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only a hint of wear on frets 2-4. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2” in width. On the headstock, the tuners have era-accurate full-size baseplates and clover buttons. The ambered peghead sports the correct '62 style "Fender Jazz Bass" decal too, and the bass even has a third strap button, keeping things period correct down to the smallest details. The "Crafted in Japan" text and O-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, with the USA-made single coils wired to the stock harness with full-size Japanese pots. All of the chrome-plated hardware is notably clean, including the control plate and bridge with spiral saddles. Plastics comprise the trio of original knobs and three-ply mint green pickguard which shows some requisite pick scuffing on the treble side. The gloss Ocean Turquoise Metallic finish is a darker shade than most, pushing towards Sherwood Green, and this bass is very well-kept. Cosmetic wear is limited to a handful of microscopic marks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole, with a small cluster of dings on the treble-side lower bout body edge. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is pristine.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
