Up for sale, a 1999 Gretsch G6119 Tennessee Rose in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A model produced prior to Fender's buyout of Gretsch (and prior to Atkins’ renewal of his Gretsch endorsement in 2007), the Tennessee Rose replicates the specifications of a circa 1962 Tennessean, yet with Filter'Tron humbuckers and a modern Tune-o-Matic bridge design. Built at the Terada factory in Japan, features include a fully hollow maple body with sound post bracing, real F holes (not painted), and a Bigsby B6G vibrato.
As Gretsch's most enduringly popular pickup, these Filter'Trons deliver plenty of bounce and chewy cut on the wound strings, with a complex, textured sparkle in the treble register, and a bit of midrange push and bark. This G6119 weighs 8lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
