Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-58US in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with factory-installed Fender American Vintage 57/62 pickups. Crafted in Japan, this guitar was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin with a custom color Candy Apple Red gloss finish. The guitar weighs 7lbs 10oz with a basswood body and clear, chiming acoustic tone, and the factory-installed Fender USA pickups match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins and cloth-covered leads. These clear and chiming Fender single coils have great midrange chirp, tight bass, and plenty of sparkle and snap. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with fresh 10-46 strings, this Strat is ready for stage and studio use.

The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. The smooth ambered gloss finish on the profile is flawless, and the original slender frets show only very light uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-4, with wear extending even more faintly beneath the plain strings until fret 7. The truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted, the neck is straight, and the guitar plays well in all registers. The guitar adheres to vintage Fender spec with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius on the 25 1/2" scale, and the nut measures 42mm in width (1.653"). On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well. The "Crafted in Japan" script text and P-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, and the USA-made Fender 57/62 pickups are cleanly wired to the stock Japanese harness and five-way pickup selector switch. These pickups are an incredible value and feature all of the hallmarks of vintage Fender design, with black fiber bobbins, staggered un-beveled alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The chrome plating on the bridge base and jack cup is clean as can be, with light surface patina on the bridge saddles. Plastics include the original trio of lightly aged knobs and single-ply white pickguard with a bit of light pick scuffing on the treble side. There's barely a scratch on the Candy Apple Red gloss finish.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
