Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Standard Telecaster in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Designed to combine classic Tele aesthetics and tonalities with forward-thinking, player-friendly features, this Tele has a 9 1/2“ fretboard radius, medium jumbo fretwire, cavity shielding for quieter operation, and Schaller-made Fender tuners and a 6-saddle bridge.
Tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck, and this Standard Telecaster weighs 8lbs 11oz. The pair of single coil pickups deliver Tele twang and snap, slightly hotter than typical vintage-inspired designs (not dissimilar to a Texas Special), offering a touch more bite and aggression. This Standard Telecaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Modern C (medium depth), measuring .850” 1st fret, .890” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, modern 9 1/2“ radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo (narrow/tall), moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-12
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm)
-Tuners: Cast/Sealed
-Serialization: “Made in Mexico,” M9-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Standard single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: 6-Saddle bridge, flat-top knurled knobs
-Plastics: Three-ply pickguard, ‘50s-spec switch tip
The gloss Arctic White finish has just a couple faint marks on the body. The satin-finished neck profile is smooth and clean, with a few shallow nicks in the lower registers that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
A gigbag is included (not pictured).
