1999 Fender Precision Bass '62 Vintage Reissue PB62-65L Left-Handed Olympic White w/ Case, Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 1999 left-handed Fender Precision Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model PB62-65L in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside of its country of origin, this “Crafted in Japan” bass features a basswood body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard. Weighing 8lbs 14oz, this bass delivers the warmth, articulation, and fundamental thump that defines the Precision tone. We've had this P Bass professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and lightly-rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .985” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this tonewood with a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and pearloid dot inlay, retaining the flawless stock slender fretwire. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.675” in width (42.5mm), upgraded to a hand-carved piece of bone for optimal note clarity and sustain. On the headstock, the vintage-style clover-button tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Crafted in Japan” text and P-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.The traditional electronics work as they should, with the original pickup wired to Master Volume and Tone controls. The chrome plating on the knurled knobs and bridge is quite clean, and plastics include the original red tortoise pickguard and treble-side finger rest.The gloss Olympic White exhibits some yellowing in the clear coat, with a few subtle "tan lines" of previously removed stickers on both the front and back of the body. Further cosmetic wear is limited to a handful of minor dings on the lower bout body edge and a few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is pristine.A black tolex hardshell case is included.
