Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-58US in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Crafted in Japan” Strat was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside of its country of origin, featuring a set of Fender's American Vintage 57/62 single coil pickups and ‘70s-spec appointments including a large headstock with block logo, three-bolt neck plate, and block saddles. With its gloss Olympic White finish, white pickguard, and black pickup covers/knobs, this particular ST72-58US evokes the look of Ritchie Blackmore’s iconic early ‘70s Strat, various iterations of which he has used extensively throughout his career.
Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fingerboard, and this Strat weighs 7lbs 15oz. The factory-installed American Vintage 57/62 single coil pickups are accurate to vintage spec, featuring black fiber bobbins, staggered alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. The neck pickup is full and girthy with a throaty zing, the bridge has great sparkle and snap, and the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch yield hollow quack. This Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
