Up for sale, a 1999 Epiphone Casino in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the Peerless factory in Korea, this uncommon and since-discontinued iteration of the Casino is expertly made and stacks up well against the Elitist line.Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The P-90s pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and have a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want dynamic cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement beyond most other modern Casino reissues. Featherweight at 6lbs 1oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation. The mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid trapezoid inlay and retains the stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets are practically perfect; with well-rounded crowns only showing a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-6. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1 11/16” in width, consistent with spec for pre-1965 Casino models, and a feature that's surprisingly uncommon on Casino iterations. The headstock sports an “E” epsilon truss rod cover, and the Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with clean chrome plating. The electronics are untouched, and the chrome plated hardware is positively gleaming save for some light scuffing on the pickup covers along the strum path. The Bigsby Licensed B7 vibrato tailpiece is an uncommon and original feature, working in concert with the ABR-1 bridge for smooth warbles and modest dives. Stock plastics include the quartet of gold reflector cap knobs and pickguard with raised "E" epsilon badge. The orange oval label is visible through the F hole, dating the instrument's production to 1999. The gloss Natural finish highlights the broad grain in the maple top and back, framed on both sides by cream binding. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with cosmetic wear limited to a handful of faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original black tolex hardshell case with silkscreened gold Epiphone "E" epsilon logo is included. There are a few minor scuffs and small tears in the tolex on the bottom, but the case is entirely stable and secure with all latches functioning as they should.
