Up for sale, a 1999 Epiphone Casino in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the Peerless factory in Korea, this uncommon and discontinued iteration of the Casino stacks up well against the Elitist line, expertly made and virtually unplayed.Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The P-90s pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and have a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want dynamic cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement beyond most other modern Casino reissues. The guitar is featherweight at only 5lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in for optimal action and intonation with 10-46 roundwound strings. The neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard is a particularly dark cut of this tonewood, featuring pearloid trapezoid inlay and flawless original medium jumbo frets. The frets retain their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, playing cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale. The truss rod is responsive and ideally adjusted and the neck is straight, offering low action in every register and effortless playability. The bone nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, consistent with spec for pre-1965 Casino models, and a feature that's surprisingly uncommon on Casino iterations. The headstock retains the original Kluson-style tuners, turning smoothly and holding pitch well. The electronics are untouched, the chrome plated hardware is positively gleaming, and the plastics are near mint including the quartet of reflector cap knobs and pickguard with raised "E" epsilon. The orange oval label is visible through the F hole, dating the instrument's production to 1999. The Sunburst finish is vibrant and glossy, with barely a scratch on it and pristine neck profile. This Epiphone Casino is professionally setup, and a rare, discontinued iteration made at the Peerless factory to exacting standards.A heavy-duty padded faux leather gigbag is included.
