Up for sale, a 1998 Yamaha Pacifica 721JH in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This premium Superstrat has an HSH pickup configuration, boasting an alder body capped with a highly figured bookmatched quilted maple top, finished in gloss Aquamarine. The tonal options are vast, and the guitar is equipped with two Yamaha GH3 (Alnico V) humbuckers and a middle position Yamaha GS5 (Alnico V) single coil coupled to a five-way blade selector switch. The guitar weighs 8lbs, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. On the thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard, the guitar sports small pearloid dot inlay and flawless medium jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock features gold-plated tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function as intended and hardware includes the Floyd Rose-licensed RM-PRO III tremolo. The trem has clean gold plating, complete with its original arm and ideal for deep divebombs and sharp flutters. The clear protective factory film is still intact on the rear control cavity and tremolo covers, illustrating the sparingly little use this guitar has seen in the past two decades. Cosmetic wear on the Aquamarine finish is limited to a couple faint dings on the back lower bout body edge, and a few more concentrated marks between the neck bolts. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Yamaha-branded gigbag is included.
