Up for sale, a 1998 Ibanez George Benson signature model GB100 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Produced at the venerable Fujigen factory in Japan from 1993 until 2005, the GB100 is essentially a richly appointed variant of the beloved GB10, Ibanez’s longest running model. The GB100’s body is a 1/2" thicker than the GB10’s, featuring an upgraded tonewood selection with its heavily figured flame maple body and premium inlay and binding throughout.
Acoustically, this Ibanez has a smooth, woody warmth with a noticeably present midrange and shimmering top end. Designed in conjunction with George Benson, the floating pickups have a full, round sound, specifically tailored to mitigate feedback while delivering sweet, clear treble articulation. Weighing 7lbs on the dot, this George Benson GB100 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 flatwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple, mahogany (3pc)
-Shape: Medium C, .830” at 1st fret, .910” at 12th fret

-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16” (43mm), bone
-Tuners: VelveTune II, “Made in Japan” stamped, pearloid buttons
-Headstock: Multi-ply bound, rosewood veneer
-Serialization: F98-prefix (1998)

-Hardware: GB100 tailpiece with pearl inlays, ebony bridge and base with pearl inlays
-Plastics: Sure Grip II knobs, bound flame maple pickguard, cream baton switch tip

The bookmatched flame maple figuring is highlighted by the Brown Sunburst finish. Exceedingly well kept for nearly three decades, cosmetic wear limited to a small mark in the pickguard, light oxidation of the gold hardware, and some faint finish scratches consistent with careful use. The gloss finish on the neck profile is pristine.
A slightly oversized Ibanez-branded black tolex hardshell case is included.
