Up for sale, a 1998 Gibson Les Paul Standard in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This early modern Standard weighs 10lbs 4oz and hails from what is increasingly known as the "good wood era," delivering a lively, powerful acoustic voice that translates well through the humbuckers with the traditional tonewood complement of a carved, bookmatched two-piece maple top, mahogany body, and one-piece mahogany neck. The 490R and 498T humbuckers have a wide tonal palette, with the Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup offering more chime and warmth, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has a cut and snarl that cuts through with classic Gibson roar. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul Standard has low action, accurate intonation, and fresh 10-46 strings.

The nitro lacquer Honeyburst finish is very warm on the two-piece carved maple top, with a Walnut gloss on the mahogany back and sides, accented by cream binding. There is light figuring on the lower bout on top, and this Gibson is extremely well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to a few scattered shallow nicks and scuffs on the back and body perimeter, and a few light finish scratches adjacent to the knobs as well, with some very fine checking on the top binding along the lower bout. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.
