Up for sale, a 1998 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Elegant in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An uncommon Custom Shop model produced from the late ‘90s to the early 2000s, the Elegant boasts a number of forward-thinking features and ornate cosmetic appointments including a AAA bookmatched flame maple top, AAA ebony fingerboard with compound radius and abalone inlays, and a chambered mahogany body.
The chambered mahogany body (advertised by Gibson as “Dynamic Sound Chambers”) serves two functions: this instrument is very lightweight for a Les Paul at 8lbs 1oz and quite naturally resonant, with a rich, full-bodied midrange response, providing an ideal platform the pair of ‘57 Classic PAF humbuckers. These Alnico II humbuckers have spongy lows, detailed treble growl, and a tailored, articulate midrange. This Custom Shop Les Paul Elegant has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss “Butterscotch” (Honey Burst) nitro lacquer finish highlights the deep, dimensional flame in the bookmatched AAA flame maple top. Exceedingly clean, there are just a few small marks on the back at the lower bout. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original hardshell case is included, along with the original wiring harness.
