Up for sale, a 1998 Fender Roscoe Beck V bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a molded hardshell case. This Artist Signature Series bass was designed with Beck, a venerable journeyman bassist who has played/recorded with artists including Robben Ford and Leonard Cohen. Produced from 1995-2007, this 5-string “Swiss Army knife of bass tone” was designed for maximum versatility, expanding on the Jazz Bass platform with a bevy of unique features including a pair of splittable Special Design Side by Side dual-coil Jazz Bass pickups, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, convertible bridge (string through/top loader), a special design Modern-Vintage select alder body, maple neck with an asymmetrical oval shape and slab pau ferro fretboard, and a gloss Teal Green Metallic finish with matching headstock.
As one would expect, there is a huge range of available tonalities on tap via the Special Design Side by Side dual-coil Jazz Bass pickups: in full dual-coil mode, these pickups are big and bold, with tons of low end heft and dense, focused midrange thump. Splitting the pickups via the mini-toggles yields Jazz Bass burp and grind, with smooth treble cut, and the side-by-side pickups can also be toggled to configure the coils in series or parallel via the same toggles. The Tone knob has a push/pull Mid Shaping control that reduces the neck pickup presence in the middle position for a sound that is very full while increasing overall punchiness. This Roscoe Beck V weighs 9lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-130 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

-Frets: Medium jumbo, moderate wear on frets 1-12 (progressively lighter wear towards octave)

-Nut: 1.875”, bone
-Headstock: Teal Green-finished, Roscoe Beck signature

The custom color Teal Green Metallic finish exhibits only light buckle wear on the back and a few minor marks and finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and lower bout perimeter. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.
