Up for sale, a 1998 Fender Jazzmaster '62 reissue electric guitar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. 100% original save for an upgraded Mustang-style bridge with height-adjustable barrel saddles, this "Crafted in Japan" Jazzmaster model JM66-80 is rarely seen outside its country of origin, offering a broad range of vintage-flavored tonalities with a rich three-tone Sunburst gloss finish and alder body. A textbook example of everything we love about the Jazzmaster, the instrument has plenty of twang and sparkle on tap, with a range of defined and powerful tones from the two single coil pickups, and warm, wooly sounds when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. Weighing 8lbs, this Jazzmaster balances well on a strap and has a smooth, clear acoustic voice. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jazzmaster is dialed in for low action and accurate intonation with 10-46 roundwound strings.

The amber-tinted maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The thick rosewood fretboard has dot inlay and original slender vintage-style frets that retain their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", the fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius, and the nut measures just a hair over 1 5/8" in width (1.650"). The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Crafted in Japan" script text and O-prefix serial number are present just above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, and the chrome hardware is bright and clean, with just a speckling of surface patina. The vibrato unit engages smoothly for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the upgraded Mustang-style bridge. The plastic parts include a red tortoise pickguard which shows some requisite pick scuffing on the treble side, and uniformly aged pickup covers and knobs. Cosmetic wear on the alder body is limited to a few minor nicks and light finish scratches on the body as a whole, while the neck profile gloss is nigh flawless.

***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
