Up for sale, a 1998 Fender American Standard Precision Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An early example of Fender's modern take on the Precision platform, the American Standard model delivers traditional tone and player-friendly features including string-through-body construction for increased resonance and sustain, medium jumbo fretwire on the slab maple fretboard, and premium Schaller-made tuning machines.

Weighing 9lbs 1oz, this alder-bodied bass has a smooth, balanced tonal response with plenty of broad thump and excellent articulation via the upgraded black bobbin Fender American Vintage '62 split-coil pickup. This American Standard Precision Bass has been professionally set up here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss three-tone Sunburst finish presents cleanly, with just a few scattered dings at the bass-side lower bout on top, a bit of pickup scuffing across the guard, and light finish scratches in the clear coat on the treble side of the back (shy of buckle rash). The semi-gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with light chatter on the carve, largely behind frets 1-5.

The original Fender-branded molded hardshell case is included.
