Up for sale, a 1997 Warwick Fortress R&B in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This passive offering from Warwick’s Fortress series features a MEC P/J pickup configuration, a swamp ash body, wenge neck, and brass fretwire and nut.

The pair of MEC pickups in the standard P/J configuration offer a tone that’s big, resonant and detailed, with a deep, growling low-end that Warwick calls “The Sound of Wood.” That rich growl can be accentuated or tempered as desired via the individual Bass/Treble knobs and a center-detent Balance control. The result is sweet, sonorous melodic lines and big, bassy thumps. This Fortress R&B weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The satin Red finish highlights the grain of the ash body, and cosmetic wear includes light buckle rash on the bass-side of the back, some pick and wrist jewelry-related wear on top, and dings and scratches from use, largely along the lower bout perimeter and on the horns. A pair of extra strap button mounting holes have also been cleanly doweled and touched-up. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile has a few shallow nicks, practically imperceptible to the palm.

A G&G hardshell case is included.
