Up for sale, a 1997 Squier by Fender Vista Series Jagmaster model JGM-55 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An original custom color iteration of the Jagmaster from its sparingly short 1996-98 production run, the Jagmaster has the distinction of being a part of Fender's Vista Series, offering some of the most imaginative spins on classic Fender designs produced in the '90s.
Crafted in Japan and not to be confused with later reissues of the Jagmaster produced elsewhere, this is the highest quality Jagmaster model ever produced by Fender, with the premium fit and finish work befitting Fender Japan's reputation. The Jagmaster takes the Fender Jaguar platform and outfits it with a Strat-style vibrato and pair of double cream bobbin Dragster humbuckers. Obliquely Kurt Cobain-inspired, the Jagmaster is a short scale affair (just like the Jaguar), and offers a modestly compact platform for hearty humbucker crunch and power. The basswood body provides a neutral, balanced acoustic platform for the pickups, and the instrument weighs 8lbs 9oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, we've dialed in this Jagmaster with fresh 11-49 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Sonic Blue finish exhibits gentle greening of the clear coat, with a couple subtle “tan lines” from removed stickers. There is light buckle worming below the tremolo cavity, a few small finish chips on the lower bout perimeter, and some dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole. There is one additional small rectangular shadow of a removed sticker on the face of the peghead, and the smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and inviting to the palm, with just a few shallow nicks.
The original Squier by Fender gigbag is included.
