Up for sale, a 1997 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 "10 Top" in 100% original condition and in perfect working model. PRS' most popular and enduring model since its introduction in '85, this Custom 24 features a bookmatched carved flame maple 10 Top finished in gloss Emerald Green. A tremolo-equipped model with stock HFS and Vintage Bass humbuckers, this Custom 24 delivers articulate, singing tones with a very versatile five-way rotary pickup selector switch. At 8lbs 12oz, this PRS offers great natural sustain that translates exceptionally well through the pickups. This Custom 24 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The mahogany neck has PRS' Wide Thin profile, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this particular tonewood with a 10" radius, featuring Birds In Flight abalone inlay and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have plenty of meat, showing moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5, with wear growing fainter on the crowns and extending to fret 9. The guitar plays well in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 25”, and the nut measures 1 11/16“ in width. On the back of the headstock, the inked serial number and "10" denoting the 10 Top figuring on the maple is present, along with chrome Schaller-made and PRS-branded tuning machines that turn smoothly.

All of the electronics are stock and untouched, and the five-way rotary pickup selector switch works as follows:

Position One: Bridge humbucker
Position Two: Bridge humbucker with neck singlecoil, in parallel
Position Three: Bridge and neck humbuckers
Position Four: Neck single coil with bridge single coil, in parallel
Position Five: Neck humbucker

This guitar is a real stunner, with tight bookmatched tiger flame on the carved maple top, highlighted by the gloss Emerald Green finish. There is light patina on the tremolo, and cosmetic wear includes a couple finish chips on the top headstock edges, and a small amount of chipping through the clear coat along the top body edge, predominantly on the treble side at the waist. There is light buckle rash on the back, and a few additional pinhead-sized marks on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and nigh flawless.

The original hardshell case is included.
