Up for sale, a 1997 Ibanez J Craft JEM7V Steve Vai signature model in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case and factory documentation. Crafted in Japan at the Fujigen factory as part of Ibanez’s top-tier J Craft series, this early example of the JEM7V features an alder body with basswood veneers and monkey grip, a one-piece flame maple neck, and a slab 24-fret ebony fretboard (a feature only available on early models) with Tree of Life inlay and scalloping on the last four frets.

The HSH pickup array includes DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers and a centrally located Evolution single coil, designed for maximum impact, power, and versatility. The neck pickup is fat and punchy, while the bridge is tight and aggressive. Both pickups have DiMarzio’s dual-resonance configuration to reproduce more harmonic overtones than conventional humbuckers, while their excellent presence and definition help slice through the densest mix. With five-way switching and the ability to pair the single coil with either humbucker for greater clarity and top-end snap, this JEM has a broad tonal spectrum, ideal for singing high gain or pristine, complex-sounding cleans. Weighing 7lbs 14oz, this JEM7V has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss White finish is limited to light buckle worming on the back at the lower bout, some small nicks along the lower bout perimeter, and a few additional minor marks on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless and highlights tight flame figuring in the maple.
