Up for sale, a 1997 Guild Starfire IV in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Not to be confused with recent Starfire iterations, this is a genuine vintage USA-made Guild, produced at the Westerly, RI factory, featuring a pair of SD-1 humbuckers and gloss Antique Burst nitro lacquer finish.

The tonewood complement comprises a semi-hollow curly maple body (maple centerblock), two-piece mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fretboard, yielding ample natural resonance and bold bark. The original pair of SD-1 humbuckers were wound by Seymour Duncan exclusively for Guild, and these pickups deliver quintessential Guild tones in the vein of a classic HB-1 with an extra hit of warmth and fullness. There’s a distinctive note attack and immediacy, with a sparkling treble register and taut, woody wound strings. This Starfire IV weighs 8lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Antique Burst nitro lacquer finish highlights the curly flame figuring extending across the body, and cosmetic wear is limited to very faint buckle worming on the back, a few dings and light finish scratches in the clear coat, and a couple tiny chips along the perimeter. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original black tolex hardshell case (Guild silkscreen on lid) is included.
