Up for sale, a 1997 Gibson Les Paul Studio Double Cut in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This early modern Les Paul Studio DC is featherweight at 6lbs 13oz and hails from what is increasingly known as the "good wood era," delivering a lively, powerful acoustic voice.

A fairly rare model with a 24 fret neck and wraparound bridge, this Les Paul boasts a traditional tonewood complement including a two-piece carved maple top, mahogany body and neck, and rosewood fingerboard, offering a lively, clear natural acoustic quality with excellent sustain. The 490R and 498T humbuckers have a wide tonal palette, with the Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup offering more chime and warmth, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has a cut and snarl that cuts through with classic Gibson roar. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul Standard has low action and fresh 10-46 strings.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender 60s-style C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders in every register and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th. On the bound rosewood fretboard, the original frets have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly in all registers, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The nut has Gibson's full 1 11/16" width. The headstock has a gold silkscreen Gibson logo and bolt bushing Gibson Deluxe double line tuners which have vintage-spec greened keystone buttons.

All of the electronics work as they should, with stock pickups and clean "Gibson USA" stamps on the baseplates. The wiring harness is untouched, with original solder joints and Gibson-embossed Alpha pots. The chrome hardware is bright and clean on the wraparound bridge pickup covers, and the Master Volume and Tone controls are capped with the original pair of black bonnet knobs. The nitro lacquer gloss Wine Red finish exhibits light buckle rash on the back of the bass-side body horn and along the belly contour, and just a few additional pinhead-sized marks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original black Gibson USA hardshell case is included, retaining its original handle and all of its original latches (including the lock).
