This SG dates to an increasingly lauded era of Gibson production colloquially known as the “good wood” era, featuring a gloss Cherry nitro lacquer finish, 1961 SlimTaper D neck profile, and a pair of ‘57 Classic PAF humbuckers.

Tonewoods include a mahogany body and one-piece neck with a long tenon joint, capped with a bound rosewood fretboard, offering a smooth, warm natural acoustic tone. The original pair of ‘57 Classic PAF humbuckers offer plenty of sweet growl and woody treble cut in the bridge position, with more meat in the neck position for fat lead lines. This SG Standard weighs 6lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
