Up for sale, a 1997 Fender Jaguar '62 vintage reissue left-handed model JG66-LH in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, boasting a custom color Candy Apple Red finish and matching headstock. Manufactured in Japan, this "Crafted In Japan" Fender was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, rarely seen outside its country of origin. Acoustically, this Jaguar offers a clear, ringing voice which translates well through the original pair of flat pole piece alnico magnet single coils. For surfy snap and twang, it's hard to beat the Jaguar, a model adopted by a huge range of genres for its cutting Fender tone and easy playability. With a percussive clarity and snarl in the bridge position and warmer, darker tonalities at the neck, there's a surprisingly broad range of tones available on the Jaguar, a range further enhanced by the Rhythm Circuit on the bass-side body horn (for even darker tones) and a high pass filter switch on the hexagonal switch plate (for more thinned out, treble-centric sizzle). The guitar weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, dialed in with fresh 11-50 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a slender, fast-feeling C profile carve with modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard is an extremely dark, tight-grained cut, a veneer in the strictest sense since it follows the curvature of the fretboard radius, but thicker than many slabs. The fretboard radius is 7 1/4", and the original slender frets retain their full height, with moderate wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5, extending more faintly to fret 7. Notes ring out clearly up the 24" scale, and the neck is straight with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the matching Candy Apple Red headstock retains the original Gotoh, Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The "Crafted in Japan" text and A-prefix serial are present just above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the stock electronics are in good working order, with individual on/off switches for each pickup on the Lead Circuit, in addition to the high pass filter (or "strangle switch") on/off toggle and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The Rhythm Circuit has its own pair of Volume and Tone wheels in addition to the on/off toggle switch that engages this circuit, which adds a darker tone cap exclusively for use on the neck pickup. The chrome control plates are bright and clean with light patina on the vibrato and across the bridge saddles. The vibrato unit works well for surfy warbles and dives and comes complete with a replacement arm, bent for its proper left-handed curvature and working in concert with the original bridge. Plastics include the original white pickguard, pair of knobs, and pickup covers, showing some pick scuffing across the guard and neck pickup cover. Cosmetically, this guitar looks stunning in its Candy Apple Red gloss, and the matching headstock option is even more uncommon on these instruments. There are some small finish chips and dings along the lower bout body edge, and just a couple exceedingly faint finish scratches on the back. The ambered gloss finish on the profile is clean and smooth, with one shallow mark on the bass-side shoulder behind fret 11. A Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.  ***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge and Lollar pickups, either of which can be installed or included prior to shipment for an additional charge***
