Up for sale, a 1997 Fender Artist Signature Series Jimi Hendrix Tribute Stratocaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case and loaded with a set of Lindy Fralin Woodstock single coils. Only produced from 1997-2001, this rare, limited run USA-made Artist Signature Series guitar is an exact mirror image of Hendrix’s legendary ‘69 Olympic White Strat, designed for the right-handed player with the same visually reversed body, headstock, and controls as Jimi.
Vintage-accurate tonewoods include an alder body and a maple neck with a maple cap fretboard, and this Hendrix Tribute Strat weighs 7lbs 12oz. The substituted set of Lindy Fralin Woodstock single coil pickups is one of the finest options for surgically accurate Hendrix tone, featuring gray fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and alnico magnets with reverse staggered poles to mirror (literally) the magnet height relative to the strings on Jimi’s flipped-over Strat. The resulting tone has a very distinctive character, with punchy lows and plenty of hollow “quack” at the in-between positions on the switch. This Jimi Hendrix Tribute Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
