Up for sale, a 1997 ESP KH-2 Kirk Hammett Signature in excellent condition and in perfect working order. First officially introduced in 1995 (with Custom Shop iterations dating back to ‘93), the KH-2 was designed while Metallica was at the height of their powers, with features including a pair of EMG 81 pickups, Kirk’s iconic skull-and-crossbones inlays, genuine Floyd Rose tremolo, reverse headstock, and sleek all-Black aesthetic.
Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and 24-fret slab rosewood fingerboard. The pair of EMG 81s utilize ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, designed for optimal note detail, enhanced high end cut, and fluid sustain, engineered so that lead work will slice through even the densest mix with an aggressive snarl. The bridge is particularly mean and focused, with a touch more breadth at the neck. This KH-2 weighs 8lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
