Up for sale, a 1996 Yamaha AEX1500 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Yamaha archtop was crafted in Japan, featuring a flame maple body, floating mini humbucker, piezo undersaddle pickup with active three-band EQ, and gloss Natural finish.
The maple construction delivers a certain note detail and immediacy, with additional glassy articulation via the ebony fingerboard. The floating mini humbucker in the neck position is full and harmonically rich with great midrange chop, and the piezo undersaddle pickup has an acoustic-like percussiveness and punch, with tonal sculpting precision via the three-band EQ. The two pickups can be paired in the middle position on the three-way switch for a “best of both worlds” sound, with an ideal ratio via the Mix knob. This AEX1500 weighs 6lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-52 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Natural finish highlights the tight, straight tiger maple figuring extending across the top, back and rims, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
