Up for sale, a 1996 Orville Les Paul Custom LPC-85 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare Orville branded model that replicates the spec of a circa 1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom, this guitar features solid mahogany body construction including the carved top, along with a genuine ebony fingerboard, Grover-style tuning machines, vintage-spec hardware and even an amber switch tip.
Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this Orville Black Beauty is an official Gibson-licensed guitar and a result of a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor Yamano Gakki. Named after Gibson's founder, Orville Gibson, this discontinued model was crafted at the Fujigen factory during the final year of Orville production.
This LPC-85 weighs 10lbs 2oz, featuring vintage-spec all-mahogany construction, with a mahogany body and a mahogany top, resulting in an instrument with exceptional natural midrange warmth. The note attack and treble response is aided by the genuine ebony fretboard. The humbuckers are crafted in the low-wind PAF mold, delivering treble cut, round lows, and midrange growl. This Orville Black Beauty LPC-85 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
