Up for sale, a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Les Paul hails from an increasingly highly regarded era of Gibson production, featuring a pair of 490R/498T humbuckers and a vibrant gloss Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish.
Traditional tonewoods include a carved two-piece maple top, mahogany body, and one-piece mahogany neck capped with a bound rosewood fretboard, and this Les Paul Standard weighs 9lbs 13oz, yielding plenty of natural sustain and lively chime. The 490R and 498T humbuckers have a wide tonal palette, with the Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup offering more warmth and sweetness, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has a cut and snarl that cuts through with classic Gibson roar. This Les Paul Standard has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is bright and bold, highlighting subtle curly flame figuring in the maple on top and exhibiting subtle checking across the body. Cosmetic wear is limited to light buckle rash on the back at the bass-side waist, a few small nicks along the lower bout perimeter, and one ding on top just south of the bridge. The neck profile retains its smooth nitro gloss, also exhibiting finish checking which can be seen but not felt.
