Up for sale, a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. This Les Paul Special was ordered by Gibson's Japanese distributor Yamano, and Gibson's USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered among their best, featuring the highest quality woods hand-picked for Gibson's discerning Japanese audience.
Offering the same tonal platform as a late '50s double cutaway Special, this Gibson features a mahogany body and one-piece neck, capped with a rosewood fretboard. Unlike many Les Paul Specials of the era offered by Gibson with P-100 pickups, this particular model features vintage-style P-90 pickups. These true single coils have a glassy treble cut, excellent articulation and plenty of rich midrange bark. Lightweight at 7lbs 2oz, this Les Paul Special has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
