Up for sale, a 1996 Gibson J-45 Mahogany in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This notably rare Gibson dreadnought is a faithful recreation of a circa 1944 “Banner Logo” Wartime J-45, boasting solid mahogany top, back, sides, and neck. Crafted at the Bozeman, MT factory in exceedingly limited quantities, this particular J-45 Mahogany has been augmented with an eye-catching floral pickguard.

An absolute cannon, this J-45 is bold and rich-sounding with tons of growl and muscle. The all-mahogany construction (including the soundboard) results in ample lower-midrange warmth, smooth, punchy trebles and broad low end, retaining surprising detail and string-to-string balance. This J-45 Mahogany weighs 4lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and easy-playing action.

There is an extra, doweled strap button mounting hole on the neck heel, and the endpin has been replaced as well. This is a crack-free guitar, and the gloss nitro lacquer finish has only limited lacquer checking on the back, with a few faint finish scratches and tiny marks on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
