Up for sale, a 1996 Gibson ES-175 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. First offered by Gibson in 1949, the ES-175 features a dramatic florentine cutaway, a fully hollow curly flame maple body finished in Antique Natural gloss nitro lacquer, and a pair of '57 Classic PAF humbuckers.

Produced in an increasingly celebrated era of Gibson production, the ES-175 was made only in small quantities throughout the '90s. Befitting the all-maple body, the guitar has an articulate, snappy treble response, with a warm, broad tonal profile thanks to the fully hollow construction. Notes are sweet and bold, with great clarity and a touch of growl in the bridge position, and lots of breadth when flipped to the neck position humbucker, perfect for smooth, mellow Jazz tonalities. The instrument weighs 7lbs 6oz, strung with 11-49 roundwound strings and professionally setup with low action and accurate intonation here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar.

The gloss nitro lacquer Antique Natural finish highlights the particularly dimensional and deep curly flame figuring in the maple. The finish exhibits subtle lacquer checking, with a sliver of wear through the clear coat along the bass-side lower bout binding edge, light buckle rash central to the back, and some pick wear along the strum path. The gloss finish on the neck profile is nigh flawless.
