Up for sale, a 1996 Gibson EDS-1275 vintage reissue in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Introduced in 1963, the EDS-1275 is an extremely well-crafted and sonically stunning instrument; this double trouble SG offers an upper 12-string neck and lower 6-string neck with solid mahogany bodies and mahogany necks capped with bound rosewood fretboards.
With two pairs of Gibson's 490R and 498T humbuckers, each neck covers a ton of tonal ground. The tone from the upper neck is chiming yet warm, with an overall tonal breadth not afforded many 12-strings. The pickups offer muscle and meat while not overshadowing the top end chime inherent in the 12-string design. The lower 6-string neck has plenty of growl and cut as well. The guitar weighs 11lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and optimal intonation.
