Up for sale, a 1996 Epiphone ES-LK Limited Edition Lenny Kravity signature Sorrento in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This exceedingly rare Epiphone was crafted in very limited quantities at the Terada factory in Japan, designed to recreate the Fly Away rocker’s own ‘60s Sorrento. Unlike the majority of later Sorrento reissues, this ES-LK is notable for featuring a pair of mini humbuckers (faithful to ‘60s spec).
With a mahogany neck and fully hollow thinline maple body construction, this Sorrento has a full, open natural acoustic response with clear treble cut, featherweight at only 5lbs 13oz. The pair of mini humbuckers yield clear, bell-like tones with a humbucker's natural fullness and sparkling treble definition. Glassy and rich, there's more growl and cut to be found in the bridge position, while the neck pickup delivers more oomph without sacrificing detail. This ES-LK has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Slender C, good shoulders, measuring .830” 1st fret, .905” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, oval pearloid inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 5/8”, bone
-Tuners: Gotoh
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: Mini humbucker x2
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: ABR-1 bridge with rosewood base, trapeze tailpiece
-Plastics: Reflector cap knobs, three-ply pickguard with “E” epsilon silkscreen
-Serialization: Orange label at bass-side F hole, 6-prefix
The gloss Sunburst finish has a very faithful mid-60s burst gradient, with cosmetic wear limited to a few small nicks and faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
