Up for sale, a 1995 Gibson "1960" Les Paul Classic Plus in excellent condition and perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An exquisite and early example of the Classic Plus model, this Les Paul is notably lightweight at a mere 8lbs 9oz with flawless original frets and a fast-feeling neck profile carve.

Designed with the 1960 Les Paul Standard as the jumping off point, the Classic boasts many features that are notable to the golden era of Les Paul production, such as a '50s headstock shape, deep dish top carve, push-in tuner bushings, ABR-1 bridge, and a slimmer 1960 neck profile. At the tail end of the '91, Gibson released the Classic Plus which featured a higher grade flamed maple top for an upcharge, and this one is a beauty, with deep figuring in the maple under a saturated Heritage Cherry Sunburst gloss finish. This Gibson boasts a solid (non-weight relieved) mahogany body capped with a carved two-piece maple top, offering plenty of power and cut, with ample sustain which translates well through the original 496R and 500T humbuckers. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this guitar plays exactly as a good Les Paul should with low action, solid intonation, and fresh 10-46 strings.

The one-piece mahogany neck has 1960 correct slim C shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .895" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard boasts cream binding, trapezoid inlays, and the original frets which are stunningly clean, showing virtually no wear with well-rounded crowns and their full factory height. The guitar plays cleanly in all registers, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive. Also notable, the fretboard inlays are quite clear, with only a hint of the aging that would skew the inlay color on later years of the Classic model. The nut has been upgraded to a hand-carved piece of bone, ensuring optimal note clarity and sustain. The headstock sports the Classic embossed truss rod cover, pearl Gibson inlay, Les Paul Classic gold silkscreen, and a set of original Kluson-style Gibson Deluxe tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The serial number is inked with the larger font seen on the earliest Classic reissues.

All of the electronics work as they should, with stock 496R and 500T pickups and untouched solder joints on the harness. A pair of nickel covers have been added to the original pickups for a more vintage-correct look. Hardware includes the ABR-1 bridge and stopbar which show uniform surface patina, and all of the original plastics are present including the gold amber bell knobs knobs, pickup rings, and switch surround. The Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss highlights deep ripples of curly flame extending evenly across the top with no bald spots. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few scattered small nicks on top mostly clustered behind the bridge, and a couple localized spots of small dings on the back lower bout body edge and at the back treble-side waist. The back is free of any buckle rash, exhibiting just a few faint finish scratches, and the neck profile retains its smooth nitro gloss along the profile length.

The original brown tolex "Gibson USA" hardshell case with pink interior is included.
