1995 Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster ST72-140YM Custom Edition Olympic White w/ Case & Hangtag, Japan MIJ

Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Yngwie Malmsteen signature Stratocaster Custom Edition model ST72-140YM in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtag and tweed hardshell case. From the first year of Yngwie's official endorsement with Fender Japan, this Fujigen factory-made model is the highest tiered iteration ever made available, with the exceptional feel and tone for which Fender Japan is known. This is also a discontinued, non-export model designed for sale only within Japan. This model comes stock with a scalloped maple fretboard, brass nut, super jumbo fretwire, and DiMarzio single coil pickups. The guitar features USA-made DiMarzio HS-3 (DP117) single coils in the neck and bridge positions, and a Fender Japan ST-Vintage single coil in the middle. The Dimarzios offers hum-free performance with a broad low end that's warm and tight with a smooth, glassy treble response. These qualities combine perfectly with a heavily distorted amp, because the sound won’t get muddy or messy, and as Dimarzio puts it, the HS-3 is the, "weapon of choice for Strat-powered classical metal." Weighing 7lbs 3oz and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, we've dialed in this Strat with low action, accurate intonation, and 10-46 strings. The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .905” at the 12th. The super jumbo frets on the 10" radius fretboard retain their full factory height, practically perfect and only showing very faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The original brass nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the large '70s-style headstock has the correct block logo, Yngwie's signature, and original Schaller-made Fender F tuners. A Fender "Custom Edition" badge is also present on the back of the headstock. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as they should, and the pickguard is bright white, with natural yellowing of the pickup covers and knobs. The guitar has a full-size tremolo block too for optimal sustain and clarity, and the vibrato responds effortlessly for deep dives and expressive warbles, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. The guitar is notably well-kept, with a flawless neck profile and wear limited to one shallow nick behind the bridge on top and a couple minor marks on the body perimeter. The Olympic White gloss finish is factory abbreviated YWH (Yellow White), as it's a purposefully yellowed iteration that closely matches Yngwie's vintage Strats. This is a rare Fender Japan Yngwie model with a scalloped fretboard, USA DiMarzio pickups, brass nut, clean super jumbo frets, and a gloss Olympic White finish. The original tweed Fender-branded hardshell case is included, with a large Custom Edition badge on the exterior, matching the designation on the back of the headstock. The original hangtag is present too.
