Up for sale, a 1995 Fender '72 Telecaster Thinline model TN72-85 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This early Fender Japan iteration of the Thinline model was made at the famed Fujigen factory, produced in the golden age of "Made in Japan" Fender production. The guitar boasts a Wide Range humbucker design more tonally faithful to the original than later Fender reissues, and these pickups are fat and full sounding while still having a distinctive top end character. The ash body provides a certain midrange punch, and the semi-hollow construction adds an inherent warmth and sweetness to the sound. Featherweight at only 6lbs 13oz, we've had this Tele professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .925" at the 12th. The original slender frets are practically perfect with their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, and the guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2" scale length with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"), and the headstock features Kluson-style tuning machines. The "Made in Japan" text and N-prefix serial number is present above the three-bolt F neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended with untouched solder joints. The chrome hardware is bright and clean on the embossed pickup covers, bridge, and knurled knobs. Plastics include the bright white pearloid pickguard which has great dimension and sparingly little aging. The Sunburst gloss finish is exceedingly clean and vibrant, with just a few tiny nicks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
