Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue left-handed model ST62-65L in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and hangtag. This left-handed “Made in Japan” Strat was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside of its country of origin.Designed to pay homage to the golden era Pre-CBS Stratocaster, this Fender Japan model has a clear, sparkling acoustic tone with great clarity and cut, featuring a basswood body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard. The pickups are a ceramic magnet variety, delivering an authoritative, cutting sound with more punch than traditional alnico magnets. This Fender weighs 7lbs 7oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .960” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the stock slender fretwire is practically perfect. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text and N-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics function as intended, with the trio of pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by the traditional Strat Volume/Tone/Tone control array, plus a five-way pickup selector switch. The chrome-plated hardware has plenty of shine, and plastics comprise the clean three-ply white pickguard and gently aged pickup covers and knobs.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish is limited to a cluster of moderately-sized dings on the back at the treble-side waist, some minor marks on the body perimeter, and a scant few faint scratches in the clear coat. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is pristine. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the manual and serialized hangtag.
