Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57-53 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” Strat features a basswood body and one-piece maple neck, delivering a chiming, clear quality that translates well through the stock pickups. These ceramic magnet pickups have more punch and power than the typical alnico  variety, sounding distinct in all positions on the five-way switch. The neck pickup is authoritative and full-sounding, and the bridge has a sparkling cut. Featherweight at just 7lbs, this Strat has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .960” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is flawless. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The “Made in Japan” text and S-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended; the pickups are wired to the stock harness, with the standard Strat control configuration of a five-way pickup selector switch and Volume/Tone/Tone knobs. Plastics include the trio of gently aged knobs and the one-ply white pickguard, which has some requisite scuffing along the treble side of the strum path. The chrome-plated bridge base and jack cup are notably clean, with a light dusting of patina on the “Fender”-embossed saddles.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss Candy Apple Red finish is limited to a handful of minor dings on the back and along the lower bout perimeter, as well as just a few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss.

A faux leather gigbag is included.
