1995 Fender Mustang '69 Vintage Reissue MG69 Pink Sparkle w/ Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Mustang '69 vintage reissue, outfitted with a single Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB humbucker, new wiring harness, and custom pearloid pickguard. Made exclusively for the Japanese market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this Mustang model (officially model MG69) has been refinished in Pink Sparkle over the original Daphne Blue.

The SH-4 JB pickup in the bridge position is Seymour Duncan's ultimate hot rodded humbucker. The low end is full and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed, and there’s an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords but translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when you play single notes or solos. Lightweight at 6lbs 13oz, this Mustang has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 roundwound strings, spot-on intonation, and low action.

The maple neck has a slender '60s C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and effortless playability in every register, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .905” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and the original slender fretwire which shows virtually no wear. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 24" scale with a straight neck and ideally adjusted, responsive truss rod. The nut measures 1 9/16“ in width, and the headstock features the original Kluson-style tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt F neck plate.

The simple electronics feature Master Volume and Tone control with full-size CTS pots wired to the Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB humbucker. The body has been routed to accommodate the humbucker and additional pickup and switching options, with a "swimming pool" route that has been fully shielded. The white pearloid pickguard is custom made for the guitar, cut in-house here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar. The Pink Sparkle finish is an amateur job, with scattered finish chips mostly along the lower bout revealing the original Daphne Blue underneath. Additional cosmetic wear is limited to light scattered scuffs and marks on the body, while the neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.

A gigbag is included.
