Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 1995 Fender JM-Champ "Jazzmaster" from the Mini Guitar series in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and Fender-branded gigbag. Made in Japan exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, this early seldom-seen mini Jazzmaster features an even rarer Black gloss finish. Sporting a diminutive basswood body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, the guitar actually has a full 24” scale length. Loaded with the stock humbucker, the JM-Champ can operate via the built-in speaker or standard 1/4“ output jack. The three-way mini toggle for the speaker selects between Off, On, and Distortion, offering a nice clean response in the On position with plenty of sparkle, while the Distortion mode unleashes unruly hi gain saturation. Featherweight at 6lbs 9oz, this JM-Champ has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings and low action.

The one-piece maple neck has a chunky C-shaped profile carve, measuring .880” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and pristine stock slender frets. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 24”, and the nut measures 1 5/8“ in width. The headstock features Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

On the body, the stock electronics work as they should, with Volume and Tone controls for the single humbucker. The chrome plating on the bridge has plenty of shine, and the Strat-style vibrato engages easily, complete with its original arm. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple marks on the bass side lower bout on top and a small stray finish chip on the back. The neck profile is pristine with a smooth satin finish and a touch of birdseye figuring.

The original hangtags and Fender-branded gigbag are included.
