Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Jazzmaster '62 vintage reissue model JM66-RC in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare "RC" (Rare Color) model was produced in a limited run of just 120 units, boasting a distinctive gloss Burgundy Mist Metallic finish, complete with matching headstock. Unique to the early years of Fender Japan, the Burgundy Mist gloss has a more ruddy, copper appearance, and this “Made in Japan” Jazzmaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside its country of origin.
Weighing 8lbs 7oz, tonewoods include a basswood body and a maple neck capped by a rosewood fingerboard. This guitar has a clear sound when strummed acoustically, and the alnico magnet pickups offer plenty of definition and sparkling cut, with warmer, wooly sounds via the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. This JM66-RC has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .830” 1st fret, .925” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 ¼” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 ½”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” S-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: JM-Single single coil x2
-Controls: Volume and Tone x2 (Rhythm/Lead Circuits), three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Bridge with spiral (threaded) saddles, vibrato
-Plastics: Three-ply parchment pickguard, aged knobs/pickup covers
The gloss Burgundy Mist Metallic finish has aged to a copper hue, exhibiting subtle broad checking on the body. There are two rectangular “tan lines” on top from previously removed stickers, checking at the corners of the neck pocket, and some minor nicks and finish scratches, largely limited to the lower bout perimeter. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with broad flame figuring on the neck carve and back of the headstock.
A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
***We are dealers for the Mastery bridge, Mastery OMV-P Vibrato, and Lollar pickups, any of which can be installed or included prior to shipment for an additional charge***
