Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Now discontinued and part of Fender's USA-made "Pro Tube" series, this Vibrolux is a rare first year model, and was only offered in its original rough blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth in its inaugural year of production. The Custom Vibrolux Reverb uses the same cabinet, speaker configuration and circuit layout as Fender's lauded (and now equally uncommon) Vibroverb 2x10 reissue, boasting rich, tube driven reverb and bias based tube tremolo that has a deep pulse and wide range of speeds. What sets the Custom Vibrolux apart from its predecessor the Vibroverb is a tone stack that's designed for more gain and and a dynamic, touch-sensitive responsiveness. Perfect for players that like a raucous, thick overdrive tone, yet still yearn for Fender cleans at lower volumes and classic Reverb and Tremolo, the Custom Vibrolux can't be beat. The Reverb and Tremolo can also be used on both Bright and Normal channels. The amp is powered by a pair of reissue Tung Sol small bottle 6L6 power tubes, which have been properly biased, and the speakers are an upgraded pair of Weber VST P10N speakers. The P10N is an early Weber designation, later re-christened the 10A150. These alnico magnet drivers can easily handle 50 tube watts apiece, made in the USA and currently costing the princely sum of $184 each. Delivering the tonal characteristics of a higher wattage '50s alnico Jensen, these speakers ensure ideal headroom, low end richness, and hi-fi clarity.Cosmetically, this amp retains its original rough blonde tolex, wheat grillcloth, brownface faceplate, cream barrel knobs, flat logo, and full complement of original hardware including chrome tilt-back legs. There's minor wear on the enclosure edges, and a bit of light staining on the right side of the enclosure. The original two-button footswitch is included. At the buyer's discretion for an additional charge, we can mod the preamp in-house to match '63 Brownface Vibroverb circuit specifications.
