Up for sale, a 1995 Fender Telecaster ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62-70NS in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare “Made in Japan” Telecaster, this model was produced in limited quantities for just one year as part of the Custom Edition line (although this example is devoid of any “Custom Edition” branding). Virtually unseen outside of Japan, it features a Foto Flame-finished basswood top on an alder body, highlighted by a gloss Vintage Natural finish.
Weighing 7lbs 8oz, a maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard round out the tonewoods. The TL-Vintage alnico single coil pickups deliver chewy twang and cut in the bridge position, with a smooth sounding neck pickup that has a percussive snap. This TL62-70NS has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .850” 1st fret, .965” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650”, bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder, Foto Flame basswood top
-Pickups: TL-Vintage single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge base, flat-top knurled knobs
-Plastics: Three-ply pickguard, top hat switch tip
-Serialization: “Made in Japan” A-prefix serial on bridge base
-Body markings: ‘TL62’ model stamp in neck pocket
The “Flame Natural” (catalog FNT) finish exhibits some broad checking, yet presents notably cleaner than most Foto Flame finishes. Cosmetic wear is limited to some minor dings and scuffs on the back. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
The original Fender gigbag is included.
