Up for sale, a 1995 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a custom color Dakota Red gloss finish. An uncommon left-handed iteration of the American Standard, this Fender reflects the high quality reinvention of the Stratocaster platform in the modern era. With reverence for Fender's past and a host of modern, player-friendly features, this USA-made Strat features a 9 1/2" fretboard radius on the 22 fret slab rosewood fingerboard, medium jumbo fretwire, a two-point vibrato, and Schaller tuning machines, all tweaks on the classic Strat platform that ensure optimal playability and tone. The trio of alnico magnet single coil pickups offer plenty of bite and articulation, and the neck pickup is particularly sparkling, with a round, bell-like tone that's perfect for lead work. Naturally, the five-way switch offers classic Strat quack in the 2 and 4 positions as well, and the sonic range of the guitar reflects the tonewood complement, with the smooth, balanced response of the alder body, and the warmth of the slab rosewood fretboard. The guitar balances well on a strap and weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a particularly slender C shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .795” deep at the 1st fret and .845” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a 9 1/2" radius and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, with light uniform wear on the crown of frets 1-7 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays well in all registers up the neck with a 25 1/2“ scale length and nut that measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock retains the original Fender-stamped Schaller tuning machines which turn very smoothly and hold pitch well with clean chrome plating. All of the original electronics function as intended with the traditional Strat control complement, untouched solder joints, and original CTS pots that date to the 12th week of '95. The chrome hardware shows just a hint of surface patina, and the two-point vibrato system has a very smooth and responsive feel, complete with bent steel saddles. Cosmetically, this guitar is exceptionally clean, with a few faint scuffs in the clear coat of the gloss Dakota Red finish. The neck profile sports a gloss finish with a few minuscule marks that are not distracting to the palm.An SKB hardshell case is included.
