Up for sale, a 1994 Ibanez S540FM in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This S Series Ibanez was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan with utmost attention to detail, featuring a slender, contoured mahogany body capped with flame maple veneers on front and back, loaded with an HSH trio of DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA pickups.

A maple neck and bound rosewood fretboard round out the tonewood complement, and this guitar has a balanced, articulate acoustic response that provides an ideal platform for the versatile pickup complement. Produced by DiMarzio in the USA exclusively for Ibanez, the IBZ/USA HSH pickups are rich and powerful; the F2 humbucker in the bridge position is hot and aggressive, with tailored lows for optimal clarity, the F1 humbucker in the neck position is full and bell-like, with a smooth, singing quality, and the C3 single coil provides ample sparkle and shimmer, pairing well with the humbuckers at positions 2 and 4 on the five-way pickup selector switch. Lightweight at 7lbs 3oz, this S540FM has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation.

The Transparent Black Sunburst finish highlights the tight, uniform figuring in the flame maple veneers, and cosmetic wear includes a number of minor nicks and scratches on the body as a whole, most prominent along the lower bout perimeter and on the top at the lower bout, with some light buckle rash on the bass side of the back. The neck profile retains its smooth satin finish, with a couple shallow marks along the profile length that don't distract the palm while fretting.

A TOUGH-TX (Japanese made) padded gigbag is included.
