Up for sale, a 1994 Grover Jackson Doug Aldrich Custom in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An exceedingly rare Japanese domestic market model, the Grover Jackson instruments were the precursors to the Jackson Stars line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. This Superstrat, designed in collaboration with Whitesnake/Dio guitarist Doug Aldrich, boasts a number of distinctive features including a shallow fretboard scallop at frets 12-24, limited body routing for maximum resonance, a gloss Psycho Green-Blue finish, reverse headstock with “shark teeth” design, contoured neck heel, and a Schaller Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo.

Via the mahogany body, this Doug Aldrich Custom has great natural midrange warmth and growl, qualities faithfully captured by the pickup pair. The Seymour Duncan SHR-1N Hot Rails single coil-sized humbucker at the neck position is potent and powerful, featuring a blade pole design, with loads of midrange harmonics and an aggressive crunch ideal for full chords and thick, fluid melodic playing. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan TB-5 Custom Trembucker, an overwound spin on a PAF-inspired design, yielding an unmistakable upper midrange attack with a tight, articulate low end and harmonically rich highs that really sing. This Doug Aldrich Custom weighs 7lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
