Up for sale, a 1994 Gibson Les Paul Standard in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This early modern Standard weighs 10lbs 1oz and hails from what is increasingly known as the "good wood era," delivering a lively, powerful acoustic voice that translates well through the humbuckers with the traditional tonewood complement of a carved, bookmatched two-piece maple top, mahogany body, and one-piece mahogany neck. The 490R and 498T humbuckers have a wide tonal palette, with the Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup offering more chime and warmth, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has a cut and snarl that cuts through with classic Gibson sizzle and roar. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul Standard is setup with 10-46 strings, low action, and solid intonation.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve at the nut with more roundness and overall heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .965" at the 12th. On the bound rosewood fretboard, the original frets have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-9. The guitar plays cleanly in all registers, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The nut has Gibson's traditional 1 11/16" width. The headstock retains the "Standard" truss rod cover and bolt bushing Gibson Deluxe double line tuners which have vintage-spec greened keystone buttons.

All of the electronics work as they should, with stock pickups and clean "Gibson USA" stamps on the baseplates. The wiring harness is untouched, with original solder joints and CTS pots that date to '94. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming on the Nashville bridge and stopbar, with light surface patina on the pickup covers. All of the original plastic parts are present including the amber speed knobs, cream pickup rings, aged cream pickguard, and switch surround.

The original nitro lacquer Cherry Sunburst finish is very warm on the two-piece carved maple top, with a Cherry gloss on the mahogany back and sides, accented by cream binding. Cosmetic wear includes pick scuffing across the guard and extending to the upper bout, buckle rash across the back, and some additional small dings and scuffs on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back but also extending to a lesser extent to the lower bout edge on top. The neck profile retains its smooth nitro gloss, with a spot of rack rash behind fret 9 and a small ding on the bass-side shoulder of the profile behind fret 8.

The original brown Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
