Up for sale, a 1994 Fender Precision Bass '62 vintage reissue model PB62 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original factory paperwork and premium Fender "gig case." Produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this '62 Precision was crafted at the famed Fujigen factory, sporting a custom color Olympic White gloss finish.

Nothing screams quintessential bass tone like a Fender Precision. Looking to capture the magic that made the early 1960s split-coil P Bass so beloved, Fender Japan released this '62 reissue with the same cosmetic appointments, as well as the warmth, articulation and fundamental thump that defines the Precision tone. The bass is a medium weight example at 8lbs 11oz, offering the sonic richness that has been the signature of this model for decades. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this bass is strung with roundwound 45-105 strings and plays well with comfortable action and solid intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, gaining more roundness and heft further up the fretboard, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and graduating to .995" at the 12th. The thick, dark slab rosewood fretboard retains the original slender vintage-style frets which have their full factory height, playing cleanly in every register and showing virtually no wear. The scale length is 34”, the fretboard has a vintage spec 7 1/4" radius, and the nut measures 1.670" in width (just shy of 1 11/16"). On the headstock, the vintage-style clover button tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well, and the face of the headstock has a classic Pre-CBS style "spaghetti" logo. The "Made in Japan" text and S-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

The traditional electronics work as they should, with the original pickup wired to Master Volume and Tone controls with knurled metal knobs. The finish is accented by a vibrant glossy red tortoise pickguard, and the bass has been upgraded with a pair of vintage-spec "ashtray" bridge and pickup covers. Honest playwear on the Olympic White gloss includes numerous finish chips along the lower bout body edge, and one partial, professionally addressed split that extends from the control cavity. There is a small cigarette burn on the headstock edge (the bass has no odor of smoke), some additional minor marks on the body as a whole, and just a touch of finish checking at the edges of the neck pocket. The smooth ambered gloss on profile is extremely clean save for one shallow nick on the bass-side shoulder behind fret 9.

The original premium Fender Japan-exclusive "gig case" padded gigbag is included, with the Fender name embossed on the outer pocket. The original manual and receipt are also included.
